How to Use Windows Vista Speech Recogition With Pronunciation Patterns
 
1. Go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/Ease of Access/ to start Windows Speech Recognition (WSR).
2. Once you start your Windows Speech Recognition, speak "Start Listening" and "Stop Listening" to control whether you want to run WSR.
3. Speak "Show Numbers" to show all of the commands.
4. Please see below for a list of commands you can speak to control Pronunciation Patterns.
5. Select any sounds such as the long A sound.
6. Speak any words in the list and the program will try select the word to match your pronunciation.
This is a great way to use latest Speech Recognition software to help you correct your pronunciation.
7. If the program highlight several options as 1, 2, 3, etc, here are few options for you .
  • You can just say Cancel and try it again.
  • You can just say any numbers and say Ok to select the word.
  • If the word you intend to say is among the options, you can try to say the word again and again until the program show Ok on your word. Then you can say Ok to select the word
  • 8. Once you select the word, just press F6 to play the word repeatedly or say Enter to play the word or Space to play the sound.
    9. Try say Useful Tips and then say any links in the Useful Tips such as F6, F7, F8, etc. (Please note that you can say the name of any links to control the program. However, the links have to be visible.)
